world of warcraft books series

First came computer games. Then came DSL, and online access to broadband, followed closely by computer games where you can play with other real people sitting in front of other real computers elsewhere in the real world. This feature has led to the development several phenomenal success of "Massively Multiple Online Role Playing Games, or MMO as they become known in the industry.
One of the most successful of these games is World of Warcraft "or" Wow ", which is currently estimated to be about seven million active players online. Like many of its kind, World of Warcraft is built on the classic fantasy, a combination of Tolkien, Camelot, and a liberal dash of unique elements of origin is mixed with the ash stand-bys. The world is filled with magic spells, swords and shields, gold coins and assorted items of value and expertise in both worldly and another world that a character can acquire with practice and effort – and hours online.
A player in this game creates an avatar – a fictional character whose role he (or she) is in the world row. The game is an endless series of quests that leads to killing monsters, acquire wealth and property and higher levels of skills – and to interact with other players to accomplish many of these things. Typically, a player to create an identity with a certain set of skills that allows him to join a guild of craftsmen like, witches or other virtual professionals.
There is a significant social interaction component to this game and others MMO. Indeed, game designers build "places third virtual" to encourage interaction. Quality time in World of Warcraft can be time spent with others, be it raiding a dungeon in a group, socializing with people in a cafeteria, or chatting with guildmates distance while exploring the wilderness on your own.
One might think that World of Warcraft is another extension of high school players and he had twenty-something on the screen. There is much – but it is also clear that the game's popularity has extended far beyond the original demographic mechanism – has as interest in other MMOs like Second Life.
The best indicator of the intensity with which the game is played and its extension in the adult world of work is the role, so to speak – that the game has been in the real world. The players have taken to develop or acquire skills of rare and valuable in almost playing characteristics and sell them for real money on the exchange sites like eBay. This is not something that Game developers want to encourage, and it is generally forbidden, not only by World of Warcraft, but most MMOs.
The market for these products exists, however, and will continue to exist as long as their popularity continues. An author of a book on the phenomenon MMO interviewed several players who have participated in significant expenses for game pieces such as swords, real estate or magical spells. Among them is a carpenter a truck driver for bread and other men who work with families.
Another category of "player" he has encountered, it the people who stopped full-time career in the World Trade paraphernalia of war. Some of these people sell their products online – like those who left the game or having financial difficulties sell entire character. Rare game items such as swords, powerful, and characters powerfully developed can make several hundred dollars. Although these activities contribute to the attractiveness of the game, they are still considered in the game's "terms of service."
WoW has continued to beat the record of MMO, and its mix of addicting gameplay and social interaction was proved difficult to beat. Players who invest considerable time and a monthly subscription to enjoy the experience on a regular basis. With deeper penetration of Internet connectivity and broadband Internet, the popularity of MMOs May thrive even more.

world of warcraft laptop 2009

NVIDIA, the # 1 maker of graphics chips in the computer industry, has finally decided to enter the race for netbooks. They recently announced their new platform, the ION. Although not a revolutionary new chip (it was actually around a time) is the pairing with the Intel Atom is what is really important for netbook owners and addicts.
About Ion
Ion is a combination of current Intel Atom processor, used in most netbooks, with Nvidia 9400M mobile GPU. The 9400M is currently used in the budget of many portable computers and the GPU is also available online for Apple MacBook Pro. The new chips offer up to 5x faster Graphics and up to 10x faster video transcoding.
So What does this mean for you?
The ion will allow you to run video much faster. For those of you who have a first generation netbook (like my mini-HP) you've probably noticed that the video may cause severe hiccups. With the 9400M, you can now launch the HD video in 1080p and Nvidia has even gone so far that the platform will be capable of reading Blu-Ray. Not only that, but Nvidia was cited as saying that the new platform can run Call of Duty 4 with 25-30 fps consistently. It's quite a feat given my current netbook could just run simple games on Yahoo. What this also means is This new range of netbooks should also be able to run World of Warcraft on the parameters of decent quality. I must be honest, when I tell you that I was very excited.
Are there any disadvantages?
The only drawback documented so was the power consumption. The new model systems that were tested were having twice the energy of netbooks precedent would reduce your battery down to about 4-5 hours for most systems. Nvidia has however stated that the ion netbooks based will have special power saving techniques to extend battery life, though no precise measurement can be made before the first systems begin to appear.
So when will they, and what new models were announced?
Up Now, once the line was given in mid-2009, but we should start seeing a major cash crop of netbooks great name using the platform of ion soon. The leaders of the door will be the S12 Lenovo, Acer, news and more than likely a new Asus laptop also complement their new line of thinner of netbooks. I presume that all major players in the race for netbooks have systems based ion available by Christmas.
In Conclusion
The new platform ions by Nvidia and Intel will be a big step for netbooks. 5x the graphics power, 10x speed video Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, 1080p and all sounds good. If you already have first generation netbook, this Christmas looks like it may be a good time to upgrade.
